You will lead the Direct Sales and Service teams in the UK having responsibility for people leadership, skills development, customer relationships and profitability. Your goal will be to achieve and exceed annual sales & service targets. To sustainably grow the UK market year on year, remaining focused on margin return, costs/overheads and operating income.
The vacancy is more sales focussed than service, however previous experience managing or working with a service team is essential for this role.
Previous experience in management, even if a small team is also essential.
Our client designs, manufactures and supports inspection equipment used to identify contaminants and product defects within the food, packaging and pharmaceutical industries. Therefore experience of selling into the food manufacturing industry is highly advantageous.
Experience of selling capital equipment into the manufacturing or similar industries is essential.

This is a home-based role with UK coverage, so willingness to travel is essential. Location wise their head office is based in the Hampshire region so a central location would also be considered. The standard hours are 08:30 a.m. to 5.00 pm. Occasional stays over night will be required.
Job Specification
- Coach and engage employees, focusing on retaining the best talent through effective communication, development and successful onboard of new employees.
- Undertake team management activities including measuring and evaluating individual performance against clearly defined accountable competencies, responsibilities and objectives.
- Partner with key customers and industry influencers such as major retailers, to ensure long lasting relationships, satisfaction with the brand and gain a deep understanding of their needs and objectives.
- Proactively and effectively work with other functions to ensure professional and seamless customer experience.
- Execute the company strategic plan to expand the customer base, using 80/20 guidelines and principals.
- Ensure Sales and Service are working in unison to support our customers. Delivering service excellence and a trusted advisor approach.
Personal Specification
- High Drive, with a growth mindset is a must. You should have a track record of exceeding targets.
- Experience of Capital Equipment sales.
- Ability to engage, lead and galvanise a sales team. You should have experience managing and delivering through others
- Excellent at building relationships both internally and externally with clients and industry influencers
- Ability to work well under pressure and have resilience to deal with set-backs
