As a Trainee Field Service Engineer you will be responsible for fixing, maintaining and installing slicing, mixing, bread cutting, mincers and similar food preparation equipment into our clients customer base. With some technical background, you will liaise directly with customers ensuring you deliver an efficient professional. Experience of working in a manufacturing environment is advantageous but not essential for this role.
Both mechanical and electrical work experience or qualifications are required but the role would suit someone who is more electrically biased.
Our client has a global footprint and as an integral part of the team you will be operating in food factory environments.
This role provides full product training and the time to understand the nature of their operation.
There are also plenty of opportunities to progress within the business if this is important to you. Over the last few years engineers have progressed to senior engineer and manager levels.
We cannot stress enough how much the business values their engineers and the role offers both the training and support required daily to ensure that the successful applicant is both happy and successful during their time at work.
Please note overnight stays will occasionally be required. Our client is based in Milton Keynes and are looking for someone within an hour's travelling time from the site so that repair work can be completed when you are not out in the field.

Key Responsibilities:
Service, install and break fix a wide range of mechanical and electrical weighing and inspection equipment, ranging from slicers, mincers, cutting machinery, bread cutters, food manufacturing equipment.
Investigating complex technical issues such as electrical/ mechanical breakdowns.
Maintain company vehicle in a clean and organised fashion ensuring all maintenance requirements are met in accordance with the policy for company vehicle drivers.
Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical and electrical skill.
When calibrating/ verifying equipment, all legal standards are met & work carried out to highest standard.
Communicate professionally and well with clients as this is an important part of the role.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
· Some experience in mechanical and electrical engineering.
· Engineering background.
· Excellent communication skills.
Advantageous:
· Fast paced manufacturing environment experience.
· Electrical qualifications and certification such as City and Guilds 18th edition, Level 3 Electrical Installations.
. Working on single phase, three phase electrical equipment.

Additional Information:
The role involves travelling directly from home to site, across the UK dependent on your location. Travel to their site in Milton Keynes will be required to complete repair work when field work is not required.
Standard working hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm with a 30-minute lunch break.
There are overtime opportunities during the week and at the weekend paid at a time and a third.
Travel time is paid door to door from the moment you leave home.
